TORREVIEJA | A CITY FOR ALL AGES AND INTERESTS
Torrevieja is generally considered the main town on the southern Costa Blanca; for many, the entire area is synonymous with Torrevieja itself. It is a city where sun, sea, and urban life exist in perfect balance. Once a small fishing village, it has grown into an exceptionally popular and vibrant city that attracts both permanent residents and vacationers from all over the world. With its mild climate, beautiful beaches, and a wealth of activities, Torrevieja offers something for every interest and age group-whether you are looking for relaxation, culture, or an active lifestyle.
KILOMETERS OF BEACHES AND SCENIC PROMENADES
One of Torrevieja's greatest assets is its fantastic beaches. In the heart of the city, you will find three major beaches: the lively Playa del Cura, the expansive Playa de Los Locos, and Playa Acequión-located right by the harbor-along with quieter coves and sandy stretches that line the coast. For those who enjoy walking or cycling, the long seaside promenade-lined with restaurants and shops-is the perfect place to take in the sea views and the fresh Mediterranean breeze.
The harbor area is another focal point, where you can relax at an outdoor café, take a boat trip, enjoy the nightlife, or simply soak up the lively atmosphere. From here, you can also catch a boat to the picturesque island of Tabarca-an ideal destination for snorkeling and day trips. It is a natural gathering place. SALT LAKES AND UNIQUE NATURE
Torrevieja is known not only for its beaches but also for its salt lakes: the green lake, Laguna de la Mata, and the pink lake, Laguna Rosa. These nature reserves form a unique ecosystem and serve as a habitat for flamingos and many other exotic bird species. The pink lagoon-which derives its color from microorganisms and salt-is one of the area's most spectacular sights, drawing numerous visitors. You can explore the area by hiking or cycling, or simply enjoy the beautiful natural surroundings and local wildlife. Near the pink salt lake, there is also a salt museum that recounts the history of Torrevieja and its long-standing connection to the salt industry.
A VIBRANT CITY ALL YEAR ROUND
Unlike many other towns along the Spanish coast, Torrevieja remains a lively city throughout the year. With a wide array of restaurants, bars, shops, and markets, there is always something to do. The large Friday market-one of the biggest in Spain-offers everything from fresh produce to clothing, accessories, toys, and handicrafts. For those who enjoy shopping, the popular Habaneras shopping center and the extensive retail area near Carrefour are just a few minutes' drive from the city center; here, you will find a mix of international retailers, Spanish brands, and local delicacies. The area also features an arcade, a bowling alley, a cinema, and other activities suitable for all ages.
SPORTS AND ACTIVITIES FOR EVERYONE
Torrevieja is a city designed for an active lifestyle. It offers a wealth of sports facilities, gyms, padel courts, and nearby golf courses. Within a 30-minute drive, you will find about 10 golf courses-one of which, Las Colinas, is considered among the very best in Spain. While each course is unique, they all share one thing in common: beautiful, natural surroundings. Water sports such as sailing, diving, and windsurfing are also popular, thanks to the perfect conditions along the coast. For those who prefer a more relaxed pastime, there are many *boule* (or *petanca*, as it is known in Spain) clubs to join.
A HOME BY THE MEDITERRANEAN
Torrevieja offers a wide range of properties, from apartments in the town center and townhouses near the beach to villas in quieter areas like Los Balcones, Aguas Nuevas, and La Siesta. Whether you are looking for a holiday home, a permanent residence, or an investment, there is something here to suit every taste and budget.
