La Mata is a quiet area, but if you want to feel the pulse of the city, you have about a 10-minute drive into central Torrevieja with everything it has to offer. The airport is reached in about 30 minutes by car and La Mata also has a local market every Wednesday, all year round. The nearest beach is just a few steps away and it is the popular La Mata beach
